As a mental health therapist, your confidentiality and privacy are the most important thing to me. I will never ever sell your information to anyone. There will never be ads on my website. I may use a service such as Google Analytics that collects depersonalized data to determine how people are finding my website so that I can best market myself. If I pick one, it will be one that divulges the minimal amount of information.
I may provide information about you to some entities. If you pay through insurance, they audit records. I store my notes and records on an electronic health record (EHR) called Sessions Health. You can see Sessions' Trust Statement here.
I am currently an associate, working under supervision and I regularly share information about my clients with my supervisors. They holds your information as confidential as I do, and I do so to give you the best help possible. I also consult with other therapists, with strong anonymity about who I'm talking about and the least information possible shared, again to help you as best as possible when I'm up against a difficult or confusing situation or don't know something. (As an example, "I have a client who is severely depressed and really likes workbooks. Anyone got an idea of one I could try with them?")
